1. Overview
Awan To-Do is a Windows desktop to-do list app developed by Awan Digitals. It is designed to work fully offline: there is no account system, no sign-in, and no data is ever sent to Awan Digitals or to any external server. This Privacy Policy explains exactly what is stored, where it is stored, and how you can back it up, move it, or erase it.
2. Information Collection and Storage
Awan To-Do does not collect any information at all. Everything you create lives only inside a single local SQLite database file on your own computer, at %APPDATA%\awan-todo\todo.db. Nothing is uploaded, synced, or transmitted anywhere.
- TASKS & NOTES — task titles, due dates, importance flags, completion status, list/group organization, and the rich-text notes attached to each task.
- APP PREFERENCES — your chosen language (Indonesian/English), light/dark theme, window size and position, and whether the app is set to launch at Windows startup.
Because everything stays in that one local file, uninstalling Awan To-Do does not automatically delete it. You can back it up, restore it, or permanently erase it yourself at any time from Settings -> Data inside the app (Back up, Restore, and Reset tasks), or by deleting the file directly.
3. System Access & Permissions
Awan To-Do is a native desktop application, not a sandboxed mobile app, so it does not go through a runtime permission-request system. The system-level access it uses is limited to:
- LOCAL FILE STORAGE — reading and writing its own SQLite database file under %APPDATA%\awan-todo, and the backup/restore file you explicitly choose to save or open through the Windows file picker.
- WINDOWS REGISTRY (Run key) — a single value under HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run, written only if you turn on "Launch at startup" and removed automatically when you turn it off.
- SYSTEM TRAY — closing the main window minimizes Awan To-Do to the system tray instead of quitting, so your notes and reminders stay available; you fully exit the app from the tray icon's "Quit" menu.
Awan To-Do never requests camera, microphone, location, contacts, or network permissions, because it does not use any of them.
4. Third-Party Services, Network Requests, and Analytics
Awan To-Do makes no network requests during normal use, there is no analytics SDK, no crash reporting service, no advertising SDK, and no telemetry of any kind bundled with the app. The only outbound connection the app can ever make is opening a link you explicitly click in the app's About section, which opens in your default web browser exactly like clicking any other link.
5. Data Portability and Deletion
Because your data is a single file you fully control, you can move it, copy it, or delete it yourself at any time.
- Back up: Settings -> Data -> Back up data saves everything into one .awantodo file you choose the location for.
- Restore: Settings -> Data -> Restore data replaces the current contents with a chosen .awantodo backup file.
- Reset: Settings -> Data -> Reset tasks permanently deletes every task and note (lists and groups are kept). Since it cannot be undone, you must type the word "reset" to confirm.
6. Children's Privacy
Awan To-Do is a general-purpose productivity tool, not directed at children under 13, and it does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children, because it does not collect information from anyone at all.
7. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as the application changes. Any revision will be reflected on this page with an updated "Last Updated" date.
