1. Overview
Al-Quran Digital is developed by Awan Digitals as a privacy-focused application. The Quran text, Latin transliteration, and Indonesian translation are bundled inside the app and read from your device. This Privacy Policy explains how your data is handled.
2. Information Collection and Storage
The app has no account or login and has no backend server of its own. The following data is stored only on your device:
- Bookmarks: the surah and verse numbers you bookmark, stored locally (SharedPreferences).
- Settings: theme mode, Arabic font size, Latin/translation toggles, reading mode, and interface language, stored locally (SharedPreferences).
- Quran database: a local SQLite database created from the bundled Quran data, used for reading and search.
- Audio cache: murottal audio files you play, saved in the app's storage folder on the device so they can be replayed offline.
None of this data is sent to Awan Digitals or any third party. Uninstalling the app or clearing its storage removes it.
3. Network Use
The only network activity is downloading murottal audio files from the public audio server cdn.equran.id when you play audio that is not yet cached. The request contains only the audio file address; the app does not send personal data, identifiers, or your reading activity. As with any internet request, the server may see your IP address. Reading, search, and bookmarks work fully offline.
4. Device Permissions & Usage
The application requests the following Android permissions:
- INTERNET: to download murottal audio files.
- WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE (Android 9 and below only): to save a copy of downloaded audio into the Downloads/AlQuran folder so you can access it with a file manager.
The app does not access your camera, microphone, contacts, or location.
5. Third-Party Services and Analytics
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data. The app contains no advertising, analytics, or tracking SDKs.
6. Children's Privacy
The application does not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from anyone, including children under 13.
7. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes take effect when posted on this page with an updated 'Last Updated' date.
